Weekend in Taipei is the first Hollywood film shot entirely in Taiwan, featuring Taiwanese talent and co-written by the legendary Luc Besson (Taken, The Fifth Element). Directed by George Huang, this fun action film celebrates Taiwan’s culture and elevates Taiwan’s profile on the world stage through an engaging and accessible fun family action film that will be released to 68 countries and 1000 screens in the US. Luke Evans and Sung Kang from The Fast & Furious co-star in this film with famed Taiwanese actress Gwei Lun Mei in a true cross-border collaboration of mainstream talent.
Prior to the movie's official release date, Penn Club of Seattle and Penn Taiwanese Society (on campus) have been invited by Formosa Studios to a FREE pre-screening in Cinemark Bellevue (11/2), Cinemark Philadelphia (11/7), and other cities across the country. Please register here for a guaranteed seat; otherwise unoccupied seats will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis until max capacity is reached on the day of the event.
Early registrants will receive a confirmation email by Thursday to discuss possible pre-event dinner gathering (pending party size) at Ding Tai Fung (Bellevue).
